Stonehenge

UK: Monday (120710); 1155 hours.

I visited Stonehenge on Saturday. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the Medieval World, just so you know. :)

On the way.

The journey took FOUR hours.

Weather was good!

I'd expected Stonehenge to be much bigger, thus the teeny weeny disappointment I had.

Still, I couldn't help but wonder in awe how this prehistoric earthwork was built. It's still a mystery.

Stonehenge was not in its original form, due to:
i) some stones had fallen off,
ii) some stones had been removed, and also
iii) some stones had been re-straightened in its positions.

What you see in the pictures, is only about half of what's built.

Another angle of Stonehenge.

Epic fail - I can't even see my own face.

A last look before leaving.

I can now tell people that I've been to one of the Wonders of the World. :)

i'm not sure, but isn't the stonehenge struck off from the new 7 wonders list after a worldwide vote?

but it's kinda neat still :)

I am curious, can we touch the stones? From your photos, I see no one near the stones. Did they close it from public?

[k0k s3n w4i] hmm, i'm not too sure either. but it was on the list before right? yeap the place is very nice :)
[TOLANIC] nope we're not allowed to touch them. there's a barrier to restrict people from entering the area near the stones. but from what i've heard, people can only touch them on the first day of summer, and touching the stones can give the person great intelligence in talking.
[SiMon Har] you should visit it sometime! :)
[ken] aww too bad.. haha.
