Food You Will Die For
I'm back from Thailand! Damn, it was so tiring. I slept throughout the whole journey back to Ipoh and still ended up with a headache and wanting to puke all the food I had for the day. In which, I did.
What's there to do in Thailand besides shopping? Which brings me to my main point today. Today's post will be on.. food again!
Dinner for the first night was marvelous! We were brought to a very "san ka la" place in the outskirts of Hat Yai which took a journey of around an hour. I was half asleep while on the way there and ended up in this place facing this signboard.
God knows what's written on it. All I know about this thing is that the telephone number is 081-2774666. Actually, I belittled this place because it was located out of nowhere and the place was so dark you wouldn't even know if you've stepped on sh*t. I was still fresh out from dreamland when the order was made. They had very fresh crabs, fishes and prawns - which stinked to the max - in which we called all of them.
Right, so after that we were ushered to our table and chairs (or maybe benches), which was made out of bamboo sticks. But before that, we had to walk on stilts! Stilts that were around two meters off the ground, which was the beach or sea, I don't know because it was dark. The width of those bloody stilts were around three feet and the worse thing is those things made creaky noises when we walked on it. So unstable they were that I thought I was gonna drop unto the ground beneath it and just die. I know it's just two meters but scary lor! That's not the end of the story. Those huts we sat in with our tables and benches were shaking as well. Each time someone walks on it, you can hear the forks, spoons, plates and glasses shaking. And the whole hut was wobbling from left to right. It's really a bad place to have dinner when you have no sense of security, at all.
After waiting and waiting, with the fishy smell from the Andaman Sea being sucked into my nose, the food finally came.
But it was something that I would never put into my mouth.
Those damn steamed cockles. I don't understand how my parents can enjoy them when the meat of those things were coated with blood. So ewww-y lor. They were served with some ulam in which I'd never liked as well.
Next in line was the best food you can ever have on earth.
Tom yum!
With a prawn of the size from your wrist to your elbow. I swear this was the best tom yum I'd ever tried! It's so good till.. you will lick the bowl dry. Okay lar, a bit exaggerating. Let me rephrase. It's so good till you will lick the last drip off the bowl. Even Mum's tom yum cannot beat this. It had so much of oomph until you have imaginary smoke coming out of your ears. So sweet, yet spicy and sour. So much kick when the soup passes your throat! Ahhh.. Heaven. The soup was served with seafood fried rice, which was good too.
After that was, prawns! Smaller ones.
Oh, did I mention that you have to eat it raw, sashimi-style? No, I didn't try as I didn't wanna risk the second day of the trip going to the toilet instead of shopping.
I forgot the order of the food that came. But we had two dishes of crabs. One was steamed and the other was cooked in dried curry style.
These huge barbecued prawns were yummy-licious!
No more photos because everyone grabbed the food before I managed to snap a picture. We had mango kerabu served with fried fish, fried fishes served with crispy fried garlic, fried squid, barbecued squid, seafood tom yum and also mixed vegetables. Seriously, I can't remember if I'd left anything out because there were so many things on the table.
Rating: 11/10. So damn yummy can!
There were nothing much in Hat Yai that I could buy except for.. urm, undergarments which were cheap over there if compared to prices in Malaysia. Thailand has super sexy ones, mind you. No clothes attracted me, you could say I came back empty-handed.
But like I'd been craving for so long, I got my ancient Thai massage. The lady masseur unlocked so many stiff bones in my body that I walked out of the shop feeling so light and flexible. Then when Mum went for her foot reflexology, this cute guy came to do it for her. Since I was idle for one hour waiting, what's there for me to do?
LOL. He was so engrossed watching The Omen dubbed in Siamese.
During one of the trips to the shopping centres there, I came across this poster. The model was so familiar.
After thinking hard, I knew who she was. If you'd watched The Amazing Race Asia 2, you would recognize her as Paula from the Thailand team. So sweet looking.
Also, I'd found out some unusual facts about fast food outlets in Thailand.
If you squint your eyes hard enough, you can see a "delivery" word there. They do KFC deliveries in Thailand!
As for McD, I heard this from a very well-known lawyer in Ipoh that was also in Hat Yai that time, they serve Pork Prosperity Burger. If the outlet sold that in Malaysia, I bet they are gonna be sued till their pants drop off.

Glamor Dinner
Thank God assignment is done. I can happily leave for Hat Yai on Thursday and get my body massage I'd been craving for so long.
Today I had the most glamorous dinner ever. Fancy eating geoducks, long clams, lobsters and snow crabs all in one night? It's crazy I tell you! Dinner was at Unique Seafood Restaurant in Sunway City, Ipoh, just behind Rum Jungle.
First, let me tell you what is a geoduck. No, it is not a duck, thank you very much. It's a type of seafood. If you think you're a smart alec like me, pronouncing it as geoduck as in 'geography', you're totally wrong. Because the tricky part is that, it is pronounced as gooey duck. Coincidentally, the looks of this gooey duck is really gooey. We shall take a look at it.
Doesn't it remind you of something? If they were to serve that thing to me like that, my tummy would definitely turn upside down. It doesn't look too appetizing, huh? Lucky thing is, during dinner, it was sliced into thin slices and we have to dip it into the soup in order to cook it. Something like steamboat. It tasted quite weird to me and to be honest, I didn't enjoy eating it very much. Nevertheless, I think this thing costs hell a lot! According to Wikipedia, geoducks can cost up till USD65 per kg! It's a mad, mad world.
Next on the menu was, long clams.
I didn't take any photos during dinner because my digicam wasn't with me, and come to think about it, would you actually snap photos of food when there are so many people waiting to eat? So rude, ain't it? Anyway, we weren't served anything like in the picture because the meat was all dug up for us and it was fried with tung fun, I think it's called 'glass noodles' in English, and then the noodles together with the bits and pieces of clam were served on the clamshell. Talk about food presentation. And honestly again, I liked the noodles way more than the clam itself.
After that, was *jeng jeng jeng* Alaskan Snow Crabs!
It's damn big can! Only thing the one I ate was white in color. The crabs were cooked in this broth, I don't know what it was but they were not too bad. Eating snow crabs gives you so much satisfaction because at least they have more meat compared to normal crabs. Imagine you bite bite bite into the shell of crabs to only find out you've eaten more shells than crab meat. With snow crabs, you can bite and eat all you want until the next morning I tell you. But truthfully, this snow crab sucks all the cash out from you because it freaking cost around RM200++ per kg. No, you didn't read it wrongly.
What's next?
Lobsters that is!
First time in my life I've touched lobsters. Nothing spectacular; they taste just like.. prawns. Maybe because they were cut into smaller pieces and cooked in claypot style. Anyhow, it tasted good.
We had another dish of vegetables and fried bihun. And then waited for dessert.
Waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Finally the waiter came in. With him, he brought a plate of.. flower crabs. I was thinking, "What?? Crabs again? I thought dinner was over!" So I didn't touch the crabs. Tummy already filled to the brim can! Eat more sure all the ducks and chickens come out.
Wa-la! That was dinner. Thank you very much to the uncle who spent us to dinner tonight. I had the chance to go through the lifestyle of the rich and famous but I still like my usual lifestyle Dad and Mum gave me. Even if I were rich and were to live eating things like that everyday, even money can't save me because I'll definitely die of high cholesterol.
LOL.

More Videos - Good Videos
Yes, yes.. I know. The videos I recorded are super-duper "high" in quality.
After comparing with many videos in Youtube, I'd realised I'm sore loser in every aspect. First, mine had too much shaking, but that I couldn't help it. Second, the images from my camera sucked so much because it was so small, it made tiny Avril even tinier. Third, the sound was horrible as well - it sounded so muffed up like Avril was trying to sing through a cloth tied on her mouth.
And that camera costs RM1200! I'm gonna kill that sales guy.
On the other hand, maybe a camera was meant for taking photographs and not video-recording. I shall buy a handy-cam next time! That's if I have the cash. Bleh.
Since I'm so good-hearted, and I don't want anybody else to start complaining that they'd puked their whatever meal out or even suffer from excessive screaming of mine ringing in their head, I will post videos of others. Big, clear and loud. Okay?
This is Avril and her pink Grand Piano singing When You're Gone.
It was definitely The Best Damn Thing!
Damn, how I'd wished Evan Taubenfield was there as well! Like in her The Best Damn Thing video. He's so hot! =D

Concert Videos
Earlier, I said that I would post videos from Avril's concert. Here you go.
She sang a lot of songs and I recorded every single piece although not the full song, except for one which I had accidentally deleted and am still cursing myself for being stupid. Anyhow, I won't post all of 'em in here because I think most of you would suffer from headache and nausea after watching them all.
Disclaimer: Please watch at your own risk. If you are currently suffering from any headache, do not watch the following. I repeat, DO NOT.
First up - Girlfriend!
Thanks to another Avril fan, I got this video in which I said that I deleted it.
So cute!
I'm having difficulties uploading the video of When You're Gone unto Youtube. Irritating. Will do it another day.

Words
I have my hands back on the internet line at home. Done with exams but it's not done mentally because one of my papers sucked terribly in which I wouldn't wanna talk about it until.. God-knows-when.
Anyhow, I'm still stucked with one assignment. Yes, during semester break. I'd decided to rest for a few days because the mourning season of that particular exam paper is not over yet. The thoughts of having to find information and stuffs are already killing me.
I don't know whether it's my fault for studying late or whether it was the assignments earlier on that caused me to start revision late. Okay, partly my fault for not doing tutorials but seriously, the tutor sucked so much I really wanted to take a piece of metal and smack it right through his head. I'm not kidding. But for that, I could go to jail might as well I imagined it in my mind.
Birthday wasn't much of an affair because of that I-Don't-Wanna-Talk-About-It subject. I was out in Pavilion and across KL, Damansara and PJ for half of the day. Just like any other day.
I just wanna finish the assignment quickly then I can ease my mind and go to Hat Yai, that if Mum and Dad decides to go. I am so much in need for a full body massage.
Life is just so crazy, eh? It is time to get emo.
